Hotels Suck

I don't know that I can do this "living out of hotels" thing much longer; this is probably the loneliest state of existence, ever. Being nomadic is fun and great, and I've done that - but when I've done that and lived out of a backpack and enjoyed it, I enjoyed it because I didn't really have a home or a life at the time. I was really just doing the nomad thing. Now I've got an actual home and an actual life, and this is a killer.

This is seriously wacky. How do people do this? I mean, I know all of the guys have been married and divorced at least once (including Yellow, who's only 34); I guess you do this shit and have to give up everything else. And you know what? It's not a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Damn. I've got a lot of work to do this weekend to get the hell out of this job and figure out my shit.

I did it for a year and a half and just about went nuts. The first few times are fun. A few days here and there but, then I was going out every Monday and returning on Friday. Its just not a way to live. Welcome to the world of the working Kam. Then one day you look around and your old.

Yep, this is the way an increasingly large segment of the population lives. We reamin the most over worked and under vacationed people in the western world.(Again see: [Http://www.epinet.org] for some of the outlines and details). And it's a life that's hell on everything you'll ever hold near and dear; other good works, friends, family, community& kids. Forget your sanity and your health, they'll be the first to go.

So despite a very long list of stuff to do, I'd make good on your escape plans first if you want the pod ready before you go nuts. It takes persistence and perseverance, determination and some luck to wind up where you want to be. Work the plan, it'll work for you.

Yea. I'm done. I'm doing resumes this weekend, and telling my boss today that I'll do mon-weds next week, but that I need to be back in Chicago Thurs/Friday. Then map training the week of teh 6th. Then I'm done.

Gotta be done. I've got MA classes to do, jogging sessions, stories to write. Nothing's getting done.
