Dove soap’s European-wide "Campaign for Real Beauty" has taken on a local twist in Düsseldorf, Germany. The people next door at the local Ogilvy & Mather office have not only sold their souls to their client, but their bodies as well. These local posters are being used in conjunction with the real "Real" campaign and placed on bus stop shelters. The headline reads: "They’re not models, just soft Dove admen from Ogilvy Düsseldorf."
That's awesome.

I can't believe people are falling for this bullshit.
OK, we have a huge advertising industry that's exploiting all our internalised insecurities and self-hate, feeding those insecurities and self-hate so that they would have more insecurities and self-hate to exploit. Then comes Dove and exploits the same insecurities and self-hate by offering us a small respite from it. I'd say that their approach is even more dishonest and manipulative than that of the rest of them.
Basically, they're being like the one decent man who expects women to treat him like a saint because he's not a creep, abuser or rapist like the rest.
