Pathfinder

This was not the movie I wanted to see. See, I wanted somebody to take the opportunity to tell the story about complex, fully developed Native American societies whoopin some Viking ass.

Instead, it's just another cliched ramble about "noble savages" getting saved by The Great White Hope.

It was like watching 10,000 BC... in Saskatchewan.

The original Laplander version is better.

I'll have to look up the original version.

The Karl Urban version annoyed me so much, especially the tacky about-face at the end, where it all turns out that it *ought* to have been The Girl's story (sorry, I can't remember her name... I can't remember any of the characters' names!), when she turns out to the The Pathfinder.

The one good thing about the film was that it confirmed the fact that old Karl will do dreadful things to his hair for movies... the Eomer mullet hairdo, the 'Macbeth' character (from Chronicles of Riddick) and his slicked-back rat-tail look, even the baaaaad buzzcut as "Grim" Reaper in Doom - hey, even his bleached surfer look for Cupid and the bowl-cut for Caesar in Xena, back in the day.

And I'm actually not a fangirl - I just watch a lot of B-grade SF...

And let's just pretend it's a fantasy and has nothing to do with actual Vikings or 'Scraelings'. So much wrong with the costumes and general history that it hurt my brain.
