Oh, thank God.
YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED.
Whedon is wasting his time on this one. Think of the incredible shows he could be creating RIGHT NOW but hasn't been for the last year and a half because he's been hip-deep in this piece of crap.
You can love two or three series from a writer, and hate their third. It's okay. It's allowed. Sometimes writers fail. It happens. I would have much rather he was attempting something great, like Firefly, than this piece of crap.
Moving on.

Yeppers. While I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Buffy and the Scoobies, Firefly was his best effort. For something like THAT, I'd even suffer though commercial television and stay up late to watch it!
Dollhouse. Meh. Whedon might have had a good idea, but it just didn't turn out all that great.
I'm happy it'll free him up to work on some new stuff. I felt like DH was a desperate attempt to make a show that would "make it," with all its violence and sex dolls.
And, you know, it's Whedon, so he was trying to build up the shit so he could bust it back down, but it just didn't work. And again, it's ok to say: hey, dude, great effort, but that just didn't work.
As writers, we all take risks. Sometimes those things don't pan out. It's OK to say so and move on.
