More War! More Bombing! But Really, Invading Iraq Was About Stabilizing the Middle East! So... Mission Accomplished!

It's just not getting any better, is it?

You ever have one of those days when you wonder if maybe the End Times fundie nuts are right?

I have bad days, sure, but usually, no. But only because I remember a lot of the shit that was going down in the 80s, with the Cold War, the upheavals in Africa, and red revolutionary movements everywhere you blinked. Everybody was suddenly dying of some new weird sex disease, and the War on Drugs was in full swing and Reagan was losing his mind and we were selling guns to Iraquis *and* Iranians...

I mean, I thought shows like Red Dawn and Mad Max weren't all that Out There. They still may not be, but I don't have the same level of certainly that they're "where we're going" that I did in the 80s. Of course, I was just a kid then, and maybe everything just looked more spooky and inevitable.

I'm just convinced that drinking water anywhere in the Middle East causes immediate and permanent brain damage.

I sat watching "Breaking News! Hezbollah declares war on Irsael" and I am starting to really worry. This IS how WWI & II started, with local conflicts becoming huge.
What worries me the most is that we are so overextended in Iraq that we dont have have a chance - Iran supposedly needs invading, North Korea has WMDs and is giving everyone the finger, Irael is in Lebanon and Hamas is in power.
The biggest crime IMO is that we do not have a leader who brought us together to help accomplish a goal, but a politician who used our country to further his agneda.
His mission is accomplished.
