Did it.
(though the coverage, as always, has to make mention of her looks. Do guys who make big achievements always have stories that include notations on their looks? Puleez).

You pack the guns. I'll make the pancakes.
5 comments so far. What are your thoughts?
Hmmmm. Yeah, I think there might be a story idea in there, if you want it bad enough.
w00t!
Damn, I saw some thing called "why Danica's win doesn't matter" back when she did it, but I didn't click on it. So I have no idea how much I want to hit the writer, or how to link to it.
Well, here's a thing. Oh, what do you know, I want to hit the writer?
I've cringed and either stopped reading or skimmed every story that's covered it so far. It makes me want to vomit.
There's not one whole-hearted "kick ass!" among them that doesn't include "well, you know, she's hot and has posed in racy photos!" or "it really doesn't mean she's all that great" or "really, she has a lot of guys helping her" or "hey, a hot chick won! It's so great she's hot! Let's talk about how hot she is!"
Re-gendering these stories would be awesome!!!!
Can't we just say, "First woman wins Indy race!" and fucking celebrate it without all the fucking sexist bullshit thrown in?
Seriously. For once. The sexist shit is starting to make me tired. I read the latest boobgate crap and you know, I didn't even have the energy to rant. The whole thing just makes me tired. Sheer lazy thinking. Nobody questions what they're writing, what they're doing, how their actions work within a bigger society and greater history.
Nobody stops to think.
And it makes me tired.
For once, I'd just like somebody to celebrate something without being a completely selfish, unthinking, ignorant ass.
